Veterans Corps brings veterans together locally and creates responsible opportunities for their skills, judgement and continuing commitment to benefit the wider community.
Our origin
Built from a local group that kept showing up.
The idea began with veterans meeting regularly for breakfast, a brew and good company. The founding group has met consistently for more than thirteen years, showing that a simple local gathering can provide lasting belonging.
It also demonstrated something larger: veterans do not stop being capable, dependable or community-minded when they leave service. Many want to keep contributing, but need a credible local structure through which to do so.
Veterans Corps develops that proven local model into a wider network: nationally recognisable, locally organised and shaped by the people and communities it serves.
Our purpose

Mutual support
Members looking out for one another, recognising when someone needs help and connecting people with specialist support where appropriate.
Community contribution
Voluntary, properly coordinated opportunities for veterans to apply leadership, teamwork, practical skills and local knowledge for public benefit.
A valuable national resource
Capability should be recognised, not allowed to disappear.
Veterans come from different services, roles and eras. Collectively, they possess an exceptional range of capabilities: planning, logistics, communications, technical and practical trades, leadership, instruction, welfare awareness, risk management and calm decision-making.
Veterans Corps does not assume that every member has the same skills or wishes to volunteer. It creates the local relationships and responsible framework through which those who do want to contribute can be known, prepared and connected to genuine community need.

National standards with genuine local ownership.
Branches are led by volunteers and follow a shared founding charter, membership rules and standards of conduct. Veterans Corps is apolitical, non-sectarian and inclusive.
Community activity is authorised and coordinated. Members do not self-deploy and Veterans Corps does not replace statutory or emergency services.
